If
you are planning an extended stay at our Inn, or if someone with you does not
fish or hunt, there is plenty to keep them busy.
Norfork is quite a historic community.
The Wolf House has been recently restored to its exact condition that it
was in when built in the early 1800s.
The history is most fascinating.
A trip to the Norfork hatchery and dam site is an excursion that all ages
will enjoy. Hundreds
of thousands of trout have been raised and released into the tailwaters of both
the Bullshoals and Norfork dams.
If you are looking for that special gift, or prized antique, you only
need to look with in the immediate vicinity.
The small historic communities of the Ozarks and the back roads of the
forest are home of many quaint antique stores.
Don’t worry, you won’t get lost.
All you have to do is to stop and ask for directions.
You will find out that the residents of the Ozarks are the friendliest
and most helpful people you will find anywhere.
The Ozark Folk Festival in Mountain View, Arkansas is a large attraction.
Folk music, folklore and traditions can all be heard and seen all year
long here. Mountain
View is truly a step back in time, back to the mountain traditions that existed
in Arkansas many years ago and in some areas, still exist.
Between River Ridge Inn and Mountain View you will find Blanchard Springs
Caverns. The
Blanchard Recreation area offers strolling on the many paved paths, hiking the
forest, cavern tours and bird watching.
This area is home to the Buffalo River and Sylamore Creek.
Both are marvelous fishing and float trip streams.
River Ridge Inn can help make your excursion plans.
The Ozarks has many on-going and
special attractions. Check back often as we will continual update what's
happening in the area.
