The Ulimate Accommodation Search

If you are planning an extended stay at our Inn, or if someone with you does not fish or hunt, there is plenty to keep them busy.  Norfork is quite a historic community.  The Wolf House has been recently restored to its exact condition that it was in when built in the early 1800s.  The history is most fascinating.  A trip to the Norfork hatchery and dam site is an excursion that all ages will enjoy.  Hundreds of thousands of trout have been raised and released into the tailwaters of both the Bullshoals and Norfork dams.  If you are looking for that special gift, or prized antique, you only need to look with in the immediate vicinity.  The small historic communities of the Ozarks and the back roads of the forest are home of many quaint antique stores.  Don’t worry, you won’t get lost.  All you have to do is to stop and ask for directions.  You will find out that the residents of the Ozarks are the friendliest and most helpful people you will find anywhere.  The Ozark Folk Festival in Mountain View, Arkansas is a large attraction.  Folk music, folklore and traditions can all be heard and seen all year long here.  Mountain View is truly a step back in time, back to the mountain traditions that existed in Arkansas many years ago and in some areas, still exist.  Between River Ridge Inn and Mountain View you will find Blanchard Springs Caverns.  The Blanchard Recreation area offers strolling on the many paved paths, hiking the forest, cavern tours and bird watching.  This area is home to the Buffalo River and Sylamore Creek.  Both are marvelous fishing and float trip streams.  River Ridge Inn can help make your excursion plans.

The Ozarks has many on-going and special attractions. Check back often as we will continual update what's happening in the area.

For Horse Lovers ONLY!!

But then, who doesn’t love horses.  Just down the road from our Inn is Tall Pine Horse Resort.  Rent a horse or have Debra take you on an outing that you will not soon forget!  If you merely want to have your children take a ride on one of the gentle horses, Debra can bring the horse to the Inn for short rides.  But Trail Riding is what our wilderness area is most known for.  There are over 250,000+ Acres of Public Land & Endless Trail System in four of Arkansas' Premier Riding Locations! Trail Riding is Open Year Round and Conveniently Located near the Buffalo River National Park (Lower End), Ozark National Forest, Sylamore Experimental Forest, and The Leatherwood Wilderness Area.   Arrangements can be made through River Ridge Inn or directly with Debra through her Web-site.  Here are a few photo of some exciting Trail Riding.  For reservations or more information go to

Golf at BIG CREEK GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB

Not far from the River Ridge Inn you can find some of the most challenging golf holes in the Ozarks.  You can take the 15 minute scenic drive to the BIG CREEK GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB and not only enjoy the day at the links, but some of the finest eating.  Big Creek is Mountain Home’s first and only golf and country club.  It is semi-private and is located off Highway 62 West.  This 18 hole championship facility measures 7,320 yards from the back tees.  The beautiful rolling terrain of this old ranch was ideal for the creation of a truly challenging golf course.  This is a must for those golfers that want to take a break from the rigors of fishing our lakes and rivers.  It is just another way to relax while staying at the River Ridge Inn.  Here are some of the acclaims made about the Big Creek Golf and Country Club.
